The new Sigma 10mA threshold Residual Current Circuit Breakers are specially designed to protect people from electric shocks in water environments with high conductivity, such as swimming pools, ornamental pools, baths, and saunas.
When a person is floating in water and exposed to a current of 15mA - 20mA, their muscles lock up and they become unable to move.
If a person is exposed to a current of 15mA - 20mA while swimming in water, their muscles lock up and they become unable to move. This limit, known as the “Release Threshold,” is around 10mA for the average adult. The new Sigma residual current protection switch ensures complete safety in hazardous water environments by cutting off power at just 7-8mA levels, even before reaching the critical threshold of 10mA.
