Residual Current Circuit Breaker Automatic Reclosing Unit
The Sigma SCRC03 Reclosing Unit is an accessory that automatically re-engages the residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) to ensure system continuity whenever the breaker trips due to transient causes.
Sudden surges in the electrical grid, transient voltage fluctuations, and harmonic components can be incorrectly detected by the residual current circuit breaker as a system leakage. Once these transient events pass, residual current is no longer present in the system.
When a transient event trips the breaker, the Sigma SCRC03 RCCB Reclosing Unit waits for 10 seconds after the initial trip before automatically resetting the breaker. If the residual current persists, the RCCB trips again, and the Sigma SCRC03 waits 60 seconds before making a second reclosing attempt. If the residual current still remains, the third and final reset occurs at the 300th second. If the breaker trips again at this stage, manual intervention is required to resolve the fault in the system.
3 Different Operating Modes
Automatic Mode: Safely performs the automatic reclosing operation following a trip or interruption.
Manual Mode: The automatic reclosing unit is disabled, and resetting is performed entirely manually under user control.
Locked Mode: Prevents the residual current circuit breaker from being energized/engaged for safety reasons.
Fast operation with opening time under 0.2 seconds and closing time under 0.3 seconds
Superior mechanical lifespan offering 10,000 switching cycles
Safe enclosure with IP20 protection class, ensuring touch-proof operation in distribution boards
