Sigma Compensation Contactors are produced specifically for compensation systems. The excess current drawn by the capacitors when they are first switched on is reduced by current limiting resistors before it reaches the main contacts of the contactor. As a result, the contactor contacts are not exposed to the high currents that occur during the activation of the compensation system and the contact life of the contactor is extended, thus mechanical and electrical stresses are prevented. In addition, thanks to the special tubing with V0 non-flammability used on the outer surface of the current limiting resistors, it does not allow any fire risk during the passage of high currents.
