Why should the AC-6B compensation contactor be used in compensation?

Sigma Elektrik Why should the AC-6B compensation contactor be used in compensation?

Compensation contactors are specially produced for compensation systems. The reason for the use of a compensation contactor instead of standard contactor in compensation systems is due to the electrical characteristic of the capacitors. The capacitors cause the withdrawal of over -currents that continue for a very short time but reach very high values. These high -speed and short -term currents may cause burning or disruption of devices connected to the electrical system, and the capacitors are damaged. In order to prevent these undesirable damages, highly high currents withdrawn from the electrical network by the capacitor must be prevented from reaching the capacitors and other devices connected to the electrical system.

Sigma compensation contacts; The contactor consists of the auxiliary contact block, and current limitation resistors. The very high current values taken at the time of the first activation of the capacitor and reach up to 200 times the memorial current are first transferred to current limitation resistances through the auxiliary ignition block. In this way, the current is reduced to values that will not damage other equipment-related equipment.
