Shunt reactors are compensation components used in compensation systems to balance capacitive loads. When the capacitive load increases, shunt reactors are activated by the reactive power control relay, creating an inductive effect to balance the capacitive load. The capacitive effect caused by long underground power lines, UPS systems, computers, electronic ballasts, and LED lighting is compensated and balanced through the use of shunt reactors. Sigma Shunt Reactors are manufactured in single-phase steps from 0.25 kVAr to 10 kVAr and in three-phase steps from 0.25 kVAr to 50 kVAr.
